Day 5 of National/Global Poetry Writing Month (AKA NaPoWriMo). Today’s card is Play again from The Love Pack by Chuck Spezzano PhD. I hadn’t thought of play and playfulness as a stress management, life-balance tool until this card. While today is an extra-long work day, it tops off with Belly Dance class this evening. Yes, with the jingle scarf belt and the whole fun deal. I smile the entire hour. The back drop in the photo is a fun painting in my journey to teach myself water-color painting. I guess play really is balancing. Try it.
Play
Putting a kitchen-aid mixer on life
Slow at first
then whipping into cream de la cream,
merry mix of work and play
not dull there Jack.
Play, an antidote to burnout
add sweetness to work and worry
and “ease on down the road”
with a light-touch attitude
and isn’t attitude everything?
Playfulness leads to success
Say it again.
Play your way to attract the best,
real success
with your new found allure and charm
keeping that stand-mixer on a steady humm.
