For all intents and purposes, early this Halloween morning was our first snow of the season. I noticed the white blanket at 4 am and the poems starting coming. What a treat to get up in the still dark, turn on the outside light to watch the snow falling on this hallowed day. Here is one of three poems inspired by the snow. Enjoy and don’t forget to hydrate.
Water is the Connector
Water is the connector
earth to above.
We are water
Drink of river and snow.
We are earth and sky,
life in death.
We are the snowflakes
fluffed from our sky tour
returning to the land.
We are rivers, lakes, and puddles
Shifting, melting, ever flowing.
Green in spring
Healing in winter.
Drink of river and snow
for we are earth and sky,
water our bond.
