Better Balance – 25 NaPoWriMo

I wrote a poem “Turning to Stone” about the stiffening and creepingly increasing discomfort in the body as we age. This month, my sister introduced me to the MELT Method – Myofascial Energetic Length Technique. Perfect timing as my Spring equinox mantras are: I am a creature of love, I am a creator, I am supple and strong. That last mantra was to combat turning to stone. This poem explores that balance of the body in aging. Day 25 NaPoWriMo Word pairing prompt.

25 Better Balance

Better Balance

Tippy canoe
Bailing water
coming in fast
Breath like a rocky stream
Trickle and bubble

MELT into the stream
Supple and flow
Align and balance
Softening stone
to molten fascia.
