Whole Trust – 19 NaPoWriMo

In case you missed how these word pairing prompts came to be…I had two sets of magnetic words on my front door. Dinner quests arranged them into pairs. I took photos and 20 years later am finally using them to inspire poems for NaPoWriMo. We are on day 19 of Poetry Writing month.

This pairing was powerful and a little uncomfortable to explore. Trust certainly does start with my confidence before the trustworthiness of the other. Explore with me.

19 Whole Trust

Whole Trust

Not the cat kind
with one eye cracked
Not “trust but verify”
Not snoop just in to be sure
but whole trust
my heart in your hands
Requires trust in myself
Brave enough to know
to not worry or wonder
A trust to settle into
to lie back supported
a foundation.
