Today I joined my first Sadhana spiritual exploration women’s circle offered by the Women’s Wisdom School; it’s international. Since Mari from Belly Dance group referred me and the Sadhana uses goddess myths and wisdom tools, it felt like a Lakshmi card day staged with my coin scarf and zils. All this is so exciting for a mid-west U.S. girl like myself.
Lakshmi is the Hindu Goddess of prosperity and fortune. She helps us be open to abundance.
Card from “The Goddess Tarot” by Kris Waldherr. Day 20 of National/Global Poetry Writing Month (AKA NaPoWriMo).
Lakshmi
Fortune
Loosen my grip
Fingers pinched on pennies
saved for sunny days
not guaranteed.
Spend and you shall receive,
says Lakshmi,
go toward the sparkle.
Life is rich
and so am I
in love and health,
in home and freedom.
A mindset of fortune
Grateful for the birds
outside a warm window.
Grateful for cherries
in my breakfast.
Grateful for a mind of synthesis.
Grateful for work to earn luxuries.
Now welcome those luxuries,
open to receiving
what my efforts award me.
