At the Oregon coast with girlfriends. We have sparsely seen each other for the passed seven years. Reviving our “Bella Beach” formerly annual weekend. I have never seen the ocean this color. It is staying with me. Here is the poem.
The golden gummie melts into sea
A sea of lavender colored waves
Why is ocean presenting lavender?
Is it Diona
our long passes friend for whom
we tossed love-blessed stones into that sea that sea tonight turned purple?
And the agates at our feet
that peak our minds,
soften our hearts
with Diona’s waves
to help us expel angst and worry,
to girl talk it all out
to soak in those lilac ocean ions,
breathing in the salt clear air,
bringing back our silly, young selves
Wrapped in our wiser croning selves.
We are whole
We are grateful,
We are love.
