Palm Wave

Finally posting the rest of my poems from paradise, the big island of Hawai’i. So often, a poem is more powerful to remember a trip than even a photograph. A poem takes you back to the feelings, the sights, smells, and what you learned. Enjoy the poem.

Palm Wave

Peacock tails
suspended to catch the sun
Louvered to pass strong winds
Elephant skin trunk
bends and bobs
Seeds held high
to roll far a field
Planted for tourists
gulping Pina coladas
listening to surf
and clattering palms
waving in the sea breeze.
