Salt in My Hair

Poems from Paradise – Trip to Hawai’i, the Big Island. One of the best things about swimming in the ocean, is salty hair. My baby fine goldie locks loved the thickening salt. Try it.

Salt in My Hair

Salt in my hair
for a week.
Sticky soft sea hair
soaking in ocean ions
in the primordial brine
stripping away build up
of work and worry.
Salt settling deep in my follicles
Pushing out mainland everyday routine
as the Pacific breeze
tosses my tresses dry.
