Beltane Snuck up on Me

Beltane, May Day, Labyrinth Day is May 1st. It came so fast this year. Time must be circular as it speeds up like water swirling down the drain. Listen to the woodpeckers. Enjoy the poem.

Beltane Snuck up on Me

Beltane snuck up on me
the march of time
through round
the cracking whip of Spring
on retreat to catch up with myself
in the company
of urban hippies
tofu and good red wine
all tea drinkers
Yoga-clad
no-sugar-thin
lavender sauce
on the blueberry vegan quick bread.

I woke up thinking of lavender
with the woodpecker
telling me something,
something simple and wise
“find a good tree
find a good mate
live and love each day.”
