Soul Walk

Awakened by the early morning sun and drawn outside by that calm morning energy, I went for a soul walk this morning. It was just me and the little creatures and the dewy grass. I would recommend a dewy soul walk especially if you have replaced your grass lawn with a wild flower prairie lawn. Walk slowly and notice the little things. And, take your camera. Loves.

Soul Walk

Still in night clothes
outside before the sun gets sunny
walking in the dew
a few raspberries the birds didn’t get
the bees and the butterflies are up
licking the yawning squash blossoms
and long petaled cone flowers.
The striped spiders are hunting
catching grasshoppers
in their ghostlike nets
dew visible in the dawning.
The sweet fragrance of milkweed
carries on the moist air
my sweet morning
a soul walk
with the little creatures.
