Imagine Far

Day 22 NaPoWriMo. Today’s poem gives tribute to Sophia LaFleur who inspires me. I met and became friends with the very spiritual and calming Sophia on Maui in 2011. Though raised in a traditional Mormon family, her calling was to the East, India, and Eastern spirituality. Sophia has followed her dreams and fostered her talents though the path has not been easy. Sophia is currently on a humanitarian pilgrimage through India funded by Gardens of Sophia Charitable Trust. Enjoy the poem.

Imagine Far

Follow the beat of your instrument
tapping tapping your soul’s feet
to your rhythm
holding dear to that rhythm
though the path may be unclear.
With goodwill in your heart
engage the help and energy
of movers and makers
imagine big
imagine far
for the world is small
and your possibilities are big.

Dawn in white, Sophia in blue together at Stillpoint, a former retreat center for which Sophia was caretaker on Maui. We had the joy of an entire day together in deep conversation.
