Lodestar

Star light
star bright
show me who I am tonight.

Through the love in your eyes
I see my goodness and beauty clearly,
clear as the summer sky
in the nectar hour
when waking
to that raw connection
to the universal good,
to creativity and collective intelligence,
when the chest rises and falls
in a contented rhythm
and the body knows
of the preciousness of moments.

You are my lighthouse,
that beacon bringing me home,
home to my most perfect self
where all that matters is love,
pure love
and joy.

Home
finally home,
where the world is smaller,
the right size
to hold me safely
surround by the people who make life
a treasured life.

A home immersed in
the manifestation of love
which is nature.

Lodestar guide me home
to that forest of my heart’s people
to gaze up at the clear night sky,
never to be without my tribe
or without my trees.
Never to float in the endless sea
but to anchor in me,
come to my own,
to that perfect self – adored.

  1. I have many favourite moments in this and nectar hour is one of them, it makes that time sound so special. For me though, it is the final few couplets that are amazing about the trees, forest heart, tribe and sea – a magnificent finish to a wonderful poem. It reminds me of Duran Duran and “Leave A Light On”, I can just imagine Simon Le Bon singing it 🙂

  2. Wow, thanks David. I needed your comment right at this moment.
