A cane sinks into the sand at the beach…and other truths

A cane sinks into sand at the beach
and other truths

Life is short
and life is long.
Have patience
between adventures
and know that all is energy,
energy that affects energy.

You are ocean
you are electric wave
you are sky
you are ancient light,
you are sand
and the space between sand granules,
you are what you eat
and you are what you feed

so feed what serves you
and what deserves you
and be careful not to use a cane
at the beach.

This beach is ours to enjoy
and crutches are not useful.
Crutches are fears we allow

allow to keep us standing there
while the tide goes out without us
leaving us sinking in the sand
gripping our useless cane.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.
We are energy,
we are powerful.
We can let go of the cane
and walk into the surf…
and trust.
